SAT Links:

Princeton Review: This site features "The Words of the Day," and promotes "beating the SAT" by learning to think like the test makers. Some free info, but much of the site is fee based. 

Kaplan: Kaplan provides a good SAT prep. program. This site provides a free test but beware that most services from Kaplan cost $$ 

College Boards: The test writers offer good advice and some practice questions; most of the site is free!

Gale Net: The Gale Research Series Online! An excellent source for literary criticism and biography in short, easy to read entries. The password is MISS80677. The username is the same as the password. A special thank you goes out to the school librarians for investing in this resource.

Check out the Voice of the Shuttle Literature Page.  This is a meta-site from Alan Liu at UCSB that provides links to scholarly and personal web sites on authors, genres, and literary periods.  This site is so massive that you can probably find all the information you need on any project right here.  Take some time to preview the table of contents before you begin your search. American Literature on the Web  provides links to American authors from the 1620's through the 1990's. It also contains timelines, and useful links to art, philosophy, etc.  Scroll down the page to find the American author's section.

Digital High School: View electronic portfolios and home pages from other students 

US News Online: Mysteries of History: this site offers information and conspiracy theories regarding historical events. (A good site to use when promoting critical thinking skills)

AdCritic: a site devoted to looking at the logical fallacies and propaganda techniques used in advertising.
